Mr. Ben Hume is the past President of Sheppards Building Materials Inc. located in Surrey, BC. Sheppards is a manufacturer of Aluminum Sunrooms, Conservatory’s and Patio covers. Ben is also a past CEO of Mirage Screen Systems, a manufacturer of Retractable Screen Systems, which are marketed throughout the US, Mexico and the UK. He is also a director and partner in Humble Manufacturing Ltd., a precision sheet metal shop located in Burnaby, BC.
Mr. Hume is a past Chair of the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) Canada national board. After 20 years, Ben retired from the CME board in October of 2014. He is also an advisor to the Steering Committee of the BC Safety Charter, a past member of the “Roundtable on Workforce Skills,” a member of the BC ITA SAG on Manufacturing and is a member of the Programs Committee for the BC Division of CME.
Mr. Hume was born and still lives in Vancouver and is a graduate from the Administrative Management Program at BCIT. Grandchildren, boating and public policy are his main outside interests.
