Riley is the Programs and Research Coordinator for IEC-BC. Her work is informed by an academic background in international relations, public policy and migration studies at the University of British Columbia and at Ryerson University. Several years of research and employment opportunities at public and non-profit organizations in Uganda, South Korea and Germany demonstrated to her the unique growth potential of diverse and inclusive work spaces. However, her experience coordinating community-based programming at home in Vancouver also illustrated the significant employment barriers that exist for newcomers settling in Canada. Riley brings to the role a keen interest in connecting the multiple stakeholders who foster mutual benefit between B.C employers and our vibrant newcomer communities.
